Nest Lancashire, the support service for young victims of crime, bullying and harassment in Lancashire has launched its website on Friday 30 September. The website, which can be found at www.nestlancashire.org offers information and guidance to young people aged 10 to 18 who have been left hurt or upset following a crime or incident.

Rossendale residents and representatives of local community groups are invited to attend their local Neighbourhood Forum meeting to find out more about local services and activities and events in their area.
There are four Neighbourhood Forums in Rossendale covering the different areas and meetings are open to all local residents. The Neighbourhood Forums are informal community meetings to allow networking and information sharing and any agreed action points.

A FAMOUS face from Corrie’s cobbles will be making his way to Blackburn Cathedral to celebrate the best of health and social care on Thursday (29.
Gareth Berliner, who plays ‘Macca’, has been performing stand-up comedy across the UK and internationally for eight years, taking his successful solo shows to comedy festivals.

Two free workshops are being held in Rossendale to help businesses with developing a new product and bringing it to market.
The events are being held at the Kingfisher Business Centre, Rawtenstall, BB4 8EQ, on October 11th and 19th.
The two day workshop will equip businesses with the knowledge needed to get their product transformed from a good idea into a best seller!

The county council is asking people to consider if they could be a councillor ahead of next year’s county elections.
Lancashire County Council is holding local elections in May 2017 and new candidates are needed to represent their areas. There will be 84 seats available to cover the 12 Lancashire district areas.

The latest round of the Rossendale Community Fund has been launched and local organisations are invited to apply for a grant from the Fund before the deadline of 14 October.
The Rossendale Community Fund was created by Rossendale Borough Council in partnership with the Community Foundation for Lancashire to offer grants to support projects that help families, children and young people in Rossendale engage in community activities and learning.

Rawtenstall’s Tom Hamer has finished his 2016 Rio Paralympics with 2 Silver Medals.
Over the weekend he won his second silver in the Men’s 200M Individual Medley (SM14) to accompany the silver he won in the Mens 200M Freestyle (S14).
This is a terrific success for Tom and everyone at Rossendale Borough Council congratulates Tom on his achievement.

Regenerate Pennine Lancashire has changed its name to Growth Lancashire.
Regenerate has provided business support and economic development services for the East Lancashire local authorities and Lancashire County Council since 2011.
In recent years the Company has been delivering Lancashire wide business support programmes such as the Government’s flag-ship Regional Growth Fund scheme.

Rossendale Borough Council has today taken the decision, following discussions with those affected, to halt the introduction of a small scale recycling project for 300 houses in Haslingden.
The project was developed in response to concerns expressed by this community about waste, fly tipping and recycling.
We are now taking a brief pause on the project because we are aware that both the scale and nature of the project has been misunderstood, and this has caused community concern.

Blackburn Cathedral will swing to the sounds of samba at an upcoming event celebrating the best of health and social care in East Lancashire.
Suco Suco Samba – a drum and dance troupe for people in recovering from addiction formed by East Lancashire support group ‘Juice’ – will headline the celebration of good practice and innovation taking place on Thursday September 29, from 10-3pm.
