Council launch employability forum to help Rossendale residents

Rossendale Borough Council have held the first ever Employability and Skills Forum in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The forum brought together representatives from a wide variety of organisations to promote collaboration between the groups and the existing employability and support programmes in the valley.

Improved Staghills play area nears completion

2021 has started with some good news for the residents of Staghills. After a difficult year, this month will see the finishing touches added to the new Staghills Play Area in Rossendale. The play area improvements have been driven by the Newchurch Village Community Association group, with support from Rossendale Borough Council and the team at local community interest company, Proffitts – Investing in Communities.

Work to begin on site for development of Bright Futures nursery

Rossendale Borough Council and Bright Futures Early Learning have signed the final lease agreements which will allow building work to begin on the plot 1 site at Futures Park in Bacup.

Construction is planned to start this month to build the new centre which will provide nursery and childcare provision for 0 to 4-year olds.
