Rossendale residents and representatives of local community groups are invited to attend their local Neighbourhood Forum meeting to find out more about local services and activities and events in their area.
There are four Neighbourhood Forums in Rossendale covering the different areas and meetings are open to all local residents. The Neighbourhood Forums are informal community meetings to allow networking and information sharing and any agreed action points. They are attended by representatives from local community groups, local councillors and the Police usually attend.
The Neighbourhood Forums meet three times a year with the next meetings in October as follows:
- Bacup Neighbourhood Forum 5 October, 6.30pm in the Council Chamber at Futures Park, Bacup.
- Whitworth Neighbourhood Forum 11 October at 6.30pm at Shawforth Chapel, Market Street, Shawforth.
- Haslingden Neighbourhood Forum 18 October at 6.30pm at Haslingden Community Link, Bury Road, Haslingden.
- Rawtenstall Neighbourhood Forum 20 October at 6.30pm at St Anne’s Church, Ashworth Road, Edgeside.
Cllr Alyson Barnes, Leader of Rossendale Council said;
“The Neighbourhood Forums have worked effectively to build strong links amongst local community members. They are a great way to find out about projects and activities in the local area and for people to work together to address issues of common concern and I would encourage people to get involved in their local Forum.”
The Neighbourhood Forums also have grants of up to £500 available for local community projects and groups.
