The Mayor of Rossendale is taking part in the Youth Enterprise Challenge and attended the opening event recently.
Six Rossendale schools will take part in the challenge, using their entrepreneurial skills to raise money for Rossendale Hospice. Each year 10 school team will be joined by a business mentor from various local businesses to help them with their project.
There will be a Celebration Event on 2nd February 2017 at Alder Grange School where each school team will present their ideas to the judges, including Mayor of Rossendale, Councillor Granville Morris, and the four winners will be revealed.
The Mayor Councillor Granville Morris cannot express how proud and privileged he felt to be in the company of so many young people from several of the excellent schools here in Rossendale; “All these young people are inspiring and appeared to be enthusiastic to complete this very worthwhile challenge; realising the importance of the work they are undertaking with the aims of raising as much from their fundraising ideas for this fantastic charity organisation.”
“Also receiving collaboration, advice and support from several mentors ,from some of the well -known Rossendale businesses and organisations, will I know, inspire these possible entrepreneurs of the future.”
“I am looking forward to seeing and judging their creative ideas at a later date.”
