The Council has appointed White Young Green (WYG) to prepare a Town Centre, Retail, Leisure and Tourism Study.
As part of this study a telephone survey has been commissioned which will be asking questions about retail, leisure, town centre and tourism related issues within Rossendale. This will form part of the Evidence Base that will be used in preparing the Local Plan. By asking local people what they think about local town centres, and their leisure activities, it will help the Council plan to accommodate appropriate development in the future.
You may be telephoned as part of this research. In relation to personal data you will be asked to estimate how much you typically spend on food (both your main food shop and any top-up shopping) each week. They will be trying to ask a representative sample of people in Rossendale and Ramsbottom so there will a question about your age group, employment status and ethnicity.
The survey needs to be representative of the people who live in Rossendale so you could be contacted in the evening and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
No questions will be asked about banking details, security information or passwords, nor will you be asked for your name, address or e-mail. Neither will you receive any follow-up correspondence.
The company undertaking the telephone survey is called NEMS Market Research, and they will explain that they are undertaking this telephone survey in relation to a study commissioned by Rossendale Borough Council.
The final study is expected next year and shall be made public and will be available to view at www.rossendale.gov.uk/localplan
