Do You Care About Lancashire’s policing?

An opportunity is being offered to shape the future direction of policing in Lancashire.

The Police and Crime Panel, administered by Blackburn with Darwen Council on behalf of Lancashire, needs a new independent member. It was established to scrutinise and support the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

The important role is to assist the panel by providing independent challenge, making make sure that the views of the public are heard and also influencing policy decisions.

Paul Elms, Vice Chair of the panel, said:

“We look forward to welcoming another member, this role brings balance to the membership and adds a very different and much needed perspective’.

The role is unpaid though expenses are reimbursed for any costs incurred.  There is a comprehensive induction and training programme.

Independent panel member Altaf Baghdadi added:

“It’s great to be at the forefront of policy and policy making and this role gives me that.”
