Bacup will be in a festive mood this Saturday, April 15 as the Bacup Easter Festival rolls into town.
The famous Britannia Coconut Dancers will be performing their annual ‘Boundary to Boundary’ dance and Bacup Market will be a hive of activity with lots of extra stalls selling local products, gifts and crafts.
Members of Bacup Pride will be there to launch the first Bacup Flower Pot Festival and there will be a Bacup Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) stand where you can find out all about the next next phase of an exciting £2m project to refurbish some of Bacup’s most historical buildings.
Elsewhere, Bacup Royal Court Theatre will be hosting a family fun day with craft stalls, theatre tours, face painting, chocolate tombola and a café bar.
Bacup Natural History Museum will host the grand opening of Mrs Ibbitts 1917 shop and parlour exhibition, plus Easter bonnet competition, raffle and photo exhibition.
There will also be activities at Bacup Library, Bacup Cricket Club and Central Methodist Church.
The Britannia Coconut Dancers will arrive in Bacup centre at about 12pm, performing in the Theatre and then in the town centre on Irwell Terrace.
Alison Wilkins from Rossendale Council said:
