New blog: Hub’s where the action is

Riding bikes is clearly a big part of Northern Grip. Whether it’s on your own bike or one of the dozens of swish new demo bikes, enjoying the trails of Rossendale is a big part of the Grip experience.

But there’s also the other aspect of Northern Grip. The reason why we call it a festival. The main reason we started the whole thing in the first place.

What makes a festival a festival? Music, entertainment, food, drink, all kinds of weather, like-minded souls and camping.

The Northern Grip Hub for this year will be situated in the majestic grounds of Stubbylee Park. Slap bang next to the Lee Quarry trailhead and an ideal gladed spot for a festival.

At Stubblyee Park there are excellent locations for music performances and an expo area devoted to trade stands and caterers. Not only that, there are also plenty of relaxing spots tucked away as well, ideal for taking a break from all the adrenaline and excitement of the festival and the riding.

Some of Stubbylee Park will remain open to the general public during the weekend – we don’t want to deprive the local kids of their weekly sessioning of the brilliant new pump track – but Northern Grip will be completely taking over the rear area of the park. This will be where The Hub zone will be. Only accessible to ticket holders.

We’ll also have a sectioned off area as the Grip campsite. Camping will be available for both Friday and Saturday nights. You’ll be right at the heart of the action, with just a short stroll back to your bed when the party winds down.

Camping tickets are available via the Northern Grip website site for just £25 for the weekend (£15 per person per night if you’re just doing one night).

We’ll also have showers and security for the campsite for the weekend and a secure bike park to lock up your pride and joy.
