Residents are being invited to attend a flag raising ceremony to mark Armed Forces Day.
The ceremony takes place on Monday, June 19 at St. Mary’s Gardens in Rawtenstall.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
The official national day is held on Saturday, June 24.
The ceremony in Rawtenstall will be attended by the Mayor of Rossendale, Councillor Colin Crawforth accompanied by Hazel Harding, Deputy Lieutenant.
In addition, Councillors, Honorary Aldermen, MPs and local organisations have also been invited.
The short service will be led by Reverend Chris Casey and will be followed by refreshments in St. Mary’s Church.
Anyone who would like to attend is asked to arrive for 9.50am for the ceremony to commence at 10 a.m.
