Residents or business owners who think that they might be at risk from flooding are invited to attend the Flood Fayre.
Organised by the Rawtenstall Flood Forum there will help and advice on offer to anyone who thinks they could be affected.
The flood forum estimates that around six and a half thousand properties in the borough are at some degree of risk from flooding from rivers, groundwater, reservoirs or drains.
Floods are most likely in late summer and autumn rather than in winter.
The event which takes place tomorrow (Thursday, June 29), will be opened by Councillor Alyson Barnes, Leader of the Council.
It will aim to answer questions such as how people can find out if they’re at risk, what to do about property insurance in a risk zone and what can help you reduce your flooding risks.
The Flood Fayre is free to enter and runs from from 2-8 pm at St Mary’s Chambers, Rawtenstall.
