The Rossendale Together Barnfield Partnership has recently embarked on a project of visiting the homes of people who have recently moved in to new, successful schemes that have recently been delivered.

Laura and Steve Mcnally moved into their new home in Bacup in 2015.

Their home is part of a new development in the town centre called Millstream Close.

The estate is managed by Together Housing Group and was developed by the Rossendale Barnfield Together Joint Venture Partnership.

They have opened up their house and say how delighted they are with their new home.

The Partnership recently visited them, take a look at the video from our visit;

The Partnership also visits Thomas Besford who moved into his new flat at Whitwell Court in May 2015.

Whitewell Court is a 12-flat development catering for older people in Waterfoot.

Whitewell Court is managed by Together Housing Group and was brought forward for development by the Rossendale Together Barnfield Joint Venture Partnership.

The Whitewell Court development was also complimented by a community engagement project run by the RTB Partnership, which involved a logo completion with local primary school, Waterfoot Primary.

The RTB Partnership asked pupils form Waterfoot Primary school to design a logo for the new development at Whitewell Court.

The Partnership received lots of excellent entries, and choosing a winner was a tough task. The winner was finally announced as  9 year old Emily Coong, she won an iPad and she got to officially open the Whitewell Court development with the Mayor of Rossendale and members of the RTB Board;

L-R: Chair of Green Vale Homes board Adrian Lord, Rossendale Borough Council Chief Executive Stuart Sugarman, Barnfield Construction Ltd Managing Director Tim Webber, Mayor of Rossendale Cllr Thomas Aldred, Together Housing Group Deputy Chief Executive Kevin Ruth with competition winner Emily Coong (9) at the opening of Whitewell Court.

Ian Clark, Together Housing Group Director of Strategy and Communications and RTB Board Member, said: “We’ve worked closely with the people of Waterfoot to try the best solution for the dilapidated site.

“The old site was an eyesore but this new development will provide a huge boost to the town both in terms of the local economy and the look of Waterfoot.

“The partnership is committed to bringing about real change in the borough and this is the first development and something we are very proud of.”

Katie Gee, of Rossendale Borough Council, added: “It’s great to see this fantastic new development open in Waterfoot.

“The project has allowed us to get involved and engage with the Waterfoot community and the local school competition epitomises that. It really kick-starts an exciting time for the partnership.”
