Hot on the heels of the Northern Grip festival another mountain biking event is set to hit Rossendale soon.

The Midweek MTB Madness 2017 Race 5 is set to take over Lee Quarry in Bacup on Thursday, July 20 promising some high octane thrills and spills in the heart of the borough.

The British Cycling-endorsed event is a grassroots racing series run by volunteers and clubs in the North West and the Bacup event and will see up to 300 riders taking on the Lee Quarry course.

With hundreds also turning out for Northern Grip last weekend, July 7-9, Rossendale is forging its reputation as ‘Adrenaline Valley’ – a one-stop destination for families and friends looking to experience adrenaline sports in the historic surroundings of Lancashire’s great outdoors.

Councillor Andy MacNae, Portfolio holder for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, said:

I’m delighted to see another fantastic mountain bike event coming to the borough – there’s certainly lots going on for fans of adrenaline sports and there is there is nowhere else in the world like Lee Quarry.

The Adrenaline Valley is about ‘Adventure for All’ – from families to groups and thrill seeking couples.  A chance to try something new, learn new skills or just have fun. And once you’ve enjoyed the sports on offer, Rossendale has plenty more to offer, from great food and drink to museums and town centre shopping. There really is no better place to spend a weekend.
