A Rossendale Council running team raised over £1200 for charity after taking part in the Great Manchester Run.
The group – dubbed the ‘Futures Running Team’ – formed to get fit together and spend time with each other out of the office.
The nine members, who include Chief Executive Stuart Sugarman, came together at the start of 2017 and progressed so well they set themselves the goal of entering the internationally renowned 10k event in Manchester.
In doing so the group raised £1269.22 for Rossendale Hospice.
Clare Law, HR Manager and Futures Running Team member, said:
The running team has been a great opportunity for us to keep fit together and spend time with colleagues away from the office.
We’re also delighted to have been able to use it as an opportunity to raise money for a fantastic cause like the Hospice.
