Volunteers are needed to help Haslingden bring in more investment into the town.
Rossendale Council is looking to establish a Haslingden steering group which will help it bid for funding to improve the town centre.
Officers will be at Haslingden library on Monday, September 25, 3pm to 5.30pm, to outline what the role entails.
Generally though, it will mean attendance at meetings and getting involved in discussions about the future of the town centre.
Councillor Andy MacNae, Portfolio holder for Regeneration, Leisure and Tourism, said: “Haslingden is a town on the up and we want to continue that momentum by bringing in more investment.
“A lot has already been achieved through the work of the Haslingden task force and initiatives like the shop frontage scheme.
“We need residents to get involved so we can bring the funding in and then make sure we are spending it on what residents want to see.
“This is a truly exciting time for the borough with lots to celebrate. Since 2011, we have really concentrated making our town centres really attractive to people. Despite tough times faced by the Council because of cuts to our budget from government and now also Lancashire County Council, we are still managing to deliver big projects which make Rossendale a place people want to live, work in, shop in and visit.”
