Rossendale will come together to salute the nation’s war heroes during this year’s Remembrance commemorations.
Several events will take place across the borough to remember those who made sacrifices to defend the country.
You can get all the details of events here.
There will also be a Festival of Remembrance Event on November 5 at St Mary’s Church in Rawtenstall on November 5. Further details here.
The Mayor of Rossendale, Councillor Colin Crawforth, said:
“The Remembrance Commemorations are some of the most important events in the calendar as we rightly come together to pay tribute to those who lost their lives, fighting bravely for our freedom. I hope as many people as possible attend the events in the borough, and hope they will never forget those that paid the ultimate price to defend our country.”
Councillor Alyson Barnes, Leader of Rossendale Council, said:
“Remembrance events bring the community together. It is a time all residents, wherever they are from and whatever they believe, can gather together and pay their respects to those who made sacrifices. We owe our service personnel, past and present, a great debt so please come down and support them by attending an event.”
