There will be a feast of delights for food lovers at Haslingden Market on Saturday (July 28).

Grab a Bite, Rossendale’s first street food festival, takes place from 11am to 3pm.

It has been supported by Rossendale Council and attractions include cookery demonstrations, food tasting and samples, curry making, children’s entertainment and henna and face painting.

The festival is being organised by the Apna community project which has a drop-in centre in Haslingden.

Apna works with mainly with South Asian women who are isolated and who often do not access services available to the wider community. It provides language, craft, wellbeing, healthy eating and fitness classes.

The food festival builds on joint cookery classes Apna has held with Manchester Road Methodist Church in Haslingden, with women from both teaching each other their recipes.
