Last chance to have say on Local Plan consultation

Published October 4, 2018 at 13:14

Consultation on the pre-submission publication version of the Rossendale Local Plan will end at midnight on Friday October, 5.

This is the version of the Local Plan that the Council intends to submit for independent examination.

The draft policies, proposed allocations and the online questionnaire for comments can be viewed online and paper copies of the documents are available to view at the One Stop Shop at Futures park, Whitworth Town Council offices and all libraries within Rossendale.

Comments on the emerging Local Plan must relate to:

  • Soundness – has the plan been positively prepared, justified, effective, and is consistent with national policy?
  • Legal – have the relevant legal procedures been followed?
  • Duty to Co-operate – has the Council liaised effectively with Neighbouring Authorities, infrastructure providers etc?

All comments made as part of this consultation will be submitted to the independent Planning Inspector for consideration as part of the examination.

The Council is also consulting on an update to the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) and the deadline for comments on this document will also end on Friday October, 5.

This can also be viewed on the Council’s website and in all the libraries.
