Leader hails Small Business Saturday

Councillor Alyson Barnes has expressed her delight at Rossendale’s involvement in Small Business Saturday, which took place on Saturday, December 1.

The national yearly grassroots campaign highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’.

On the day, Rossendale Council issued a series of short videos featuring some of the best local small traders describing what they do and why it’s important to back small business.

Cllr Barnes said:

Small Business Saturday is a fantastic event which aims to persuade people to spend locally in independent shops. I was delighted we were able to take part and shine a light on just a few of the many fantastic small businesses we have here in Rossendale.

Small businesses are the lifeblood of our town centres. They are community focussed by their nature and add character and colour. We are lucky to have so many varied small businesses all offering unique services which add up to make Rossendale a desirable destination for shoppers.
