Applications for community grants are now open at Rossendale Council.
There is a closing date of Monday, 7th January 2019. Grants will be available to cover the 3 financial years – 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22.
The allocation of up to £62,000 funding for Rossendale Council Grants and Community Partnership Grants was approved by the Council’s Cabinet on 28th November.
Applicants must be able to show experience of working with Rossendale residents and have local knowledge of the issues facing the different communities within the Borough.
The grants will be targeted at organisations focusing on financial inclusion, which is a Council priority. They must be Rossendale-based constituted third sector organisations, or third sector organisations carrying out work in Rossendale, and must provide services which facilitate financial inclusion.
Community Partnership grants (formerly Forum grants) are also still available, with up to £500 per community project.
Barbara Ashworth, Cabinet Member for Health, Housing, Communities and Customer Service, said:
Our priority is a proud, healthy and vibrant Rossendale for people to live and visit, and we want to make sure we are connected to all our residents and partners, making the most of every pound we spend and working harder for everybody.
“We welcome applications from any group meeting the criteria who are working to make our Borough a better place for everyone.”
