Join the country’s biggest-ever Spring clean and help make Rossendale tidy.
The Great British Spring Clean takes place from 22nd March – 23rd April 2019 across the UK, organised by Keep Britain Tidy – and we need you to take action to improve the environment on your doorstep by joining the country’s biggest mass-participation environmental campaign.
The campaign is aiming to inspire people to join forces – in partnership with community organisations, businesses and councils – to collect and safely dispose of litter from Rossendale’s streets and parks, recycling as much as possible.
Registration is open on the Keep Britain Tidy website at: www.keepbritaintidy.org/get-involved/support-our-campaigns/great-british-spring-clean
To take part in the Great British Spring Clean, you can:
- Register to host a public or private clean-up
- Join a local clean-up
- Pledge to do their own thing
Councillor Jackie Oakes, Cabinet member for Operations, said:
I would love as many people to join the Great British Spring Clean and help to tidy up in their community. Litter spoils the beauty of our borough, and people who drop rubbish on the floor make it harder and less attractive for everyone else.
It would be lovely to see people helping to do their bit alongside the Council. I am planning to get out and do a litter pick with Stacksteads Countryside Park Group on 30th March and hope if we all band together we can make a difference.”
