Do you want to join in the country’s biggest-ever spring clean and help make Rossendale tidy?

Volunteers are being sought to blitz Bacup in a community clean-up as part of the Great British Spring Clean.

Taking place this Wednesday, April 17 from 10am-1pm the clean-up and planting day will see volunteers tackle the area from Alma Road to Industrial Street.

Meeting place is the top of Inkerman Street just before 10am. Free refreshments will be provided.

The clean-up is being spearheaded by Bacup Pride and supported by Rossendale Council.

The Great British Spring Clean takes place from 22nd March – 23rd April 2019 across the UK, organised by Keep Britain Tidy. Several clean-ups have already taken place across the borough.

The campaign is aiming to inspire people to join forces with community organisations, businesses and councils to collect and safely dispose of litter from Rossendale’s streets and parks, recycling as much as possible.
