The Leader of Rossendale Council, Councillor Alyson Barnes, has praised the borough’s pride groups after they achieved several In Your Neighbourhood awards.
Pride groups in Bacup, Whitworth, Haslingden, Weir, Waterfoot as well as Civic Pride Rossendale were all recognised for their various projects.
In Your Neighbourhood awards are organised by Royal Horticultural Society Britain In Bloom.
The well established competition celebrates the great work of individuals and residents’ groups in making a difference to their local environment.
Councillor Barnes said:
“I am absolutely thrilled the hard work, dedication and rugged determination of volunteers to make the borough a better place has been recognised nationally at these prestigious awards.
“They are truly are putting Rossendale on the map. The gardens and spaces they have worked on look amazing and I know residents across the borough appreciate everything these volunteers do.”
