Rossendale Council’s Community Team is working on a Love Parks project to give a boost to the borough’s green spaces.
The first park we are working on is Edgeside Park in Waterfoot, alongside Newground Landscape Services.
The Love Parks initiative was developed following the success of the work in Stubbylee Park, where the community, the council and partners worked together to make real improvements.
Newground are drawing up a masterplan for the park and there will be lots of public consultation so local people can have their say on how they think the park could look.
As part of that consultation, members of the Community Team will be at the Boo Theatre in Waterfoot today (Wednesday, February 19) from 3pm to 6pm to show the draft plans for the project and answer any questions you might have.
There will also be questionnaires for both children and adults to fill in all about what you want from your parks and what is important to you.
Councillor Alyson Barnes, Leader of Rossendale Council, said:
“I hope people can come along to this meeting and give us their views on what they would like to see at Edgeside Park. The Love Parks project is exciting and people can really help to shape the final vision of their parks.”
