Rossendale businesses are being reminded to apply for the Government grants during the coronavirus closures.
It is estimated that 1,800 local Rossendale businesses are eligible for the grants, but just over 900 firms have applied so far – only half of those who could claim.
Rossendale Borough Council is keen to support all businesses and pay out the grants, and has been contacting firms who have not yet applied.
You only need to complete a simple form which has been sent to you and is also available on the council website at: www.rossendale.gov.uk
The council has prepared to deal with the anticipated demand and payments can be made quickly.
Councillor Alyson Barnes, Leader of Rossendale Borough Council, said:
The council is very keen to play its part and support local businesses. We have paid out grant funding to over 900 local businesses in the first few days of the funding being available, and we want to make sure those businesses which may be struggling and have been forced to close in the Valley receive their funding as quickly as possible.”
