International Opera star Sean Ruane addressed the audience at the Rossendale Hospice ‘Hearts & Voices concert’ saying “I have been incredibly fortunate and have had the privilege of performing in some amazing venues all around the world, I want the children of Rossendale also to have an opportunity to perform in a prestigious venue”.
The Hearts & Voices concert was held at Blackburn Cathedral in February and was a collaboration with Rossendale school choirs, Graham Helm and the 2nd Rossendale Scout Band, Sean Ruane and his company Chant Productions.
One hundred and forty children performed in front of an audience of 350 people who attended the most memorable event. Their voices touched the hearts of many and raised the wonderful sum of £3500 for Rossendale Hospice.
Over the last few months, Sean and his team have delivered many hours of singing workshops to the schools to prepare for this fantastic event. The confidence they gain from this experience is invaluable.
Sam Morris, the Community Fundraising Manager at the Hospice comments “As last year’s concert was so popular and the children benefited so much from Sean’s coaching, we just knew that we had to do it again.
We are very grateful to our corporate sponsors – Winfield Outdoors, Cassons, Fred Hamers Funeral Services, Musbury Fabrics, Tony Quinn Accountants and Towergate Insurance whose sponsorship has covered the full costs of putting on this event, enabling Rossendale Hospice and its patients to benefit from the proceeds of ticket sales”.
