A new billboard has been erected on the former Barclays bank to showcase the Bacup 2040 Vision, Masterplan and High Street Heritage Action Zone. The billboard gives an interesting insight into the themes of the 2040 Vision and how Bacup will continue to grow into a thriving and sustainable town for its local community, local businesses and visitors alike.

Highlighting the current High Street Heritage Action Zone, a £1.08 million Historic England funded project, the billboard sets out what this project is aiming to achieve, complementing the achievements of the former Townscape Heritage Initiative and the future aspirations for the Market Square and wider town centre.

Deputy Council Leader and Portfolio Holder for Bacup, Councillor Jackie Oakes, said, “The billboard is a great way to engage everyone with the proposals for our town centre. Why not scan the QR code to see the online animation of the proposals and find out more?”

Moving on from the Future High Streets Fund decision the Bacup 2040 Partnership Board continues to actively look, and apply for, grant funding to continue the delivery of the Bacup 2040 Vision and Masterplan.
