Rossendale council along with their colleagues from Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and Active Lancashire are holding an employment and support event for those aged 50+ at Futures Park on 24 May.
The event which runs from 1-3pm is open to anyone aged 50 and over who is interested in looking for work or who may need support to move into work.
Council Leader Alyson Barnes said: “There can often be a focus solely on youth employment but it’s equally important to help people at the other end of the age range who still have a lot to offer.
“Many businesses recognise the advantages and general life experience people who are slightly older can bring to their work force. This event is an opportunity for anyone in that age range who may need support to move in to work or is exploring a career change, to come down and talk to different employers and see what roles are on offer.”
The event will bring together over a dozen businesses from across Rossendale and beyond.
