Since 2009 some Rossendale Councillors have been completing the 24hr relay around Marl Pits raising money for Cancer Research UK.
This year the team of 12 Rossendale Councillors, captained by Cllr Colin Crawforth, completed the relay in unusually good weather and raised almost £1000 at the last count, for the charity (It has been known to rain continuously for the 24hrs on more than one occasion!).
Some of the team pictured above; Cllr’s Patrick Marriott, Jackie Oakes, Alyson Barnes, Janice Johnson and Colin Crawforth are happy that relay is almost complete. Other team members were: Heather Massie, Pat Smith, Cllr Andrew Walmsley and Doreen Wilson.
