Following the success of the Heritage Open Day last year, Valley Heritage and Rossendale Borough Council are pleased to announce that Stubbylee Hall in Bacup will be open to the public again this year. This event will be Sunday 11th September between 11am and 2pm. Access to the Hall will be via guided tours of 15 people, available to book on the day.
The National Heritage Open Day event will also see several other buildings open across the Valley, in a celebration of Rossendale and its heritage;

Cllr Annie McMahon, Heritage Champion for Rossendale Council, welcomed the event saying;
“I am delighted to see so many Heritage Open Day events happening across Rossendale, celebrating the important heritage the Borough has to offer. Days like these are a great way to celebrate such wonderful buildings and have the opportunity see inside them.”
All events are totally free and open to all though there are some restrictions for safety reasons. Wheelchair access is restricted to areas of Stubbylee Hall due to the stairs (and no lift access). There are also age restrictions to Stubbylee Hall – no under 6’s.
Valley Heritage are working alongside Rossendale Borough Council and the Townscape Heritage Initiative to facilitate the Heritage Open Day event and hope that the area will get visitors from throughout Rossendale and beyond into Bacup to celebrate its rich and varied heritage.
