Happy New Year.
Civic Pride are constantly recruiting new volunteers and consequently we keep a range of hi-vis vests and jackets available in a range of sizes but when Colin joined we had to rethink our strategy. Colin is the border collie, a rescue dog who won’t let owner Mike (holding the lead) out his sight and is a regular addition to the Thursday morning team sessions!
On a more serious note there have been a spate of thefts of Civic Pride hanging baskets in Rawtenstall. These are expensive units which are stocked twice yearly for the benefit of the community. Stealing from a charity must rate a long way down the scale of acceptable actions. If anyone has information please email: info@civic-pride.org.uk
On a more positive note, if anyone was in Rawtenstall or near Hareholme Bridge on Christmas Day and saw a flash of a hi-vis jacket we can confirm that you’ve not gone crackers, two of our volunteers collected five bags of litter between them. Yo ho ho! Fortunately there was plenty left for the 14 volunteers who turned up on Friday 28th, collecting 45 bags between them.
