Council leader welcomes Red Express news

The Leader of Rossendale Council has welcomed news the Red Express bus service will be retained.

Councillor Alyson Barnes said:

Council approves the sale of Rosso to Transdev

At last night’s meeting (20^th December) Rossendale Borough Council approved the sale of Rossendale Transport Limited (trading as Rosso) to Transdev Blazefield. The formal transfer will be completed in the next few weeks.

As part of the agreement, Transdev is planning to invest significantly in Rosso including spending in the region of £3 million on state-of-the-art new buses to be placed on the busiest routes to benefit the most people and the most communities.
