Businesses across the borough have been receiving the Government grants distributed by Rossendale Borough Council.

The grants started to be distributed on Aril 1st and the majority of firms that applied have now received their funds.

The Council has been receiving messages of thanks from businesses for the help given by officers, not only in getting the grants out but in offering help and advice to those in need.

Some of the messages include:

I just wanted to say a very quick thank you to all the staff, officers and teams working at the council who are working so hard to get help to the small businesses across our valley. The grant I received today is very much needed to keep my business going; it’s keeping the lights on, it’s paying my suppliers and it’s keeping my staff in the jobs they love.

And:

Like you, they are working so hard to serve their community and like you, their efforts can go unnoticed, but I’m humbled by the massive effort everyone is putting in. So, well done and keep going. You’re doing a great job! Stay safe.”

Thank you so much for your help the small business grant has reached my account. Please pass on my thanks and best wishes to the team working on this who I know have worked over the Easter weekend to get this support to businesses, you may be working behind the scenes but this will be a huge help to all small businesses in their struggle to survive.”

Other comments include:

I have received the grant. Well done to all at RBC!! I can breath!! You have no idea how relieved I am. What an amazing and efficient response from Rossendale Council.”

Please pass on my thanks to your colleagues – got the grant through this morning – given us some breathing room. Now stress levels decreased (slightly). Very quick response – thank you to all involved.”

Councillor Alyson Barnes, Leader of Rossendale Borough Council, said:

I wanted to share some of the messages that we have received as I am sure these sentiments will be echoed by all the businesses that have received this help over the past few days. The word relief stands out and I am so pleased that our teams were able to respond so quickly to help out our local businesses and help give them support during  these challenging times.”
