Hundreds flock to Council’s careers fair

More than 1,500 people including hundreds of school students visited a huge exhibition of career opportunities.

It is the second time the Rossendale Works Employability Fair has been held at the Adrenaline Centre in Haslingden, and more than 50 different businesses and training providers were on hand to showcase their jobs and apprenticeships.

Employability fair is just the job

People who are looking for a job or want to improve their prospects can attend an employability and skills fair organised by Rossendale Council.

They will be able to speak to around 50 local companies and voluntary organisations at the Rossendale Works event on Tuesday (July 10).

The event at The Adrenaline Centre, Haslingden, is open to the public from 2pm to 5pm.

Pupils to report from careers fair

Pupils will become reporters for the day when they attend a careers, employability and skills fair organised by Rossendale Council.

The eight students will interview businesses, take photos and use social media to promote Rossendale Works which takes place at The Adrenaline Centre, Haslingden, on July 10.

Journalist and PR specialist Catherine Smyth is managing the team of Year 7s from All Saints’ Catholic High School, Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, Fearns Community Sports College and Whitworth Community High School.
