Civic Pride blog: We’re back

Published May 20, 2020 at 14:34

Civic Pride Rossendale (CPR) are back!  Expect to see our willing volunteers in their hi-vis jackets across the town over the coming weeks as we start to clear the litter and undo a lot of what nature has been doing to our wonderful community gardens.

We’re strictly following government guidelines by working singly or in pairs but with social distancing firmly in place which means you won’t see us in a group on a Thursday morning until things improve.  For the safety of us and you, please do not approach us – no, we won’t bite but please stay at least 2metres away!

We’ve not been idle while we’ve been away, we’ve been doing our own gardens, some of which are shown on our website whilst our Vice Chair has been writing weekly gardening tips.  Have a look and see what you think.

We’re going for gold in NW in Bloom next year and so we need all the help we can get.  Life has changed for us all over the last few weeks, our priorities, the use of our time and even our interests.  Have you been meaning to join us but just not got round to it?  Are you looking for a new hobby?  Would you simply like to give something back to the community?  If you answered yes to any of these, please contact us info@civic-pride.org.uk or 07955 110199 and we’ll come back to you.

We’ve made it clear to all our volunteers that there’s no pressure to return and it’s no different for those now wishing to join.  We have opportunities for litter picking, gardening and balsam bashing but only if you feel comfortable doing it.  Working with members of your household or one other, the choice is yours.

We look forward to welcoming you.
