Rossendale’s Climate Change Breakfast helps businesses strive towards the net-zero target

Rossendale Council in partnership with the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, have held a climate change business breakfast event – Destination Net-Zero. 

27 businesses from across all industries and sectors attended the event to find out more about how they can reduce their carbon footprint and ways to reduce their soaring energy bills.

Consultation on Rossendale Council’s Climate Change Supplementary Planning Document

Rossendale Council is undertaking a public consultation on the Climate Change Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).  

The document includes how new developments in Rossendale can best adapt to climate change, focusing on sustainable and active transport, energy efficiency and renewables, water interventions, biodiversity and Green Infrastructure. Rossendale Forest campaign wins regional PR award

Rossendale Council has won a regional Public Sector PR award in recognition of the Rossendale Forest initiative.  

The council were announced as the winners of the category at the PRCA DARE Awards 2022(North West) ceremony in Manchester.   

The winning Public Sector Award focused on the Rossendale Forest project and the impact it’s had in just a few short months.

Rossendale Forest ask for volunteers for final planting sessions

Rossendale Council are asking for volunteers for the last push to plant the remaining 1000 trees of the Rossendale Forest initiative. 

Rossendale Forest, the council’s tree planting initiative to plant a tree for every child in the borough over the next three years- that’s 16,000 trees – has successfully planted more than 6,000 trees since the start of the year.
