Independent people wanted to scrutinise Rossendale Council

Rossendale Council is inviting local people to apply to become a co-opted member of the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee assists the Council in policy development, the monitoring of performance, as well as scrutinising the quality of services to local people.

Applicants should not be councillors, employees of the council, or close friends or relatives of either.

The term of office for co-opted members is two years and the committee meets approximately nine times per year in the evening at 6.30pm.

The appointment will be made by the Council following consideration of all the applications received.

The successful applicant will be required to comply with the Council’s Code of Conduct and the Member/Officer Protocol, and complete a form giving details of financial and other interests.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 13th May 2016.
