2016 is Water Band’s 150th year. To celebrate we’re having ‘A Bit Of A Do’ at the bandroom on Saturday 12th November between 3pm and 7.30pm and we would like to invite you along to help us mark this momentous occasion.
We are inviting past players and social members of the band, relatives of current and past players, friends and neighbours of the band, organisers who have booked the band this year, and anyone with an interest in Water Band and its aims.
The afternoon and early evening will be a chance to find out about the band, reminisce about old times, look over the bandroom, try an instrument, and have a cup of tea. We will also have a display of band memorabilia and photos, and would welcome having a look at any band items you might want to share with us.
There will be two short performances during the afternoon and if you are a player you are welcome to bring along an instrument, or borrow one, and join in.
The Mayor of Rossendale, Cllr Granville Morris, will be honouring us with his presence during the afternoon, and we hope that you can also join us at some point during the event.
Access to the bandroom is by steep steps to the first floor at the rear of the building, so if you have any difficulty with access and need help on the day please call either 07928-399-681 or 07816-765-474. There is limited parking outside the bandroom and we would appreciate it if anyone arriving by car tries not to obstruct our neighbours’ houses. There is a bus stop outside with an hourly service on route 483 until around 5pm.
We look forward to seeing you on 12th November to help Water Band celebrate its birthday.
