Council delighted at lottery windfall for heritage project

Community Assets Standing Tall (CAST) has been awarded £49,400 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to undertake a two year listing project of Rossendale Heritage assets.

Councillor Annie McMahon, Design and Heritage Champion, said:

I am delighted to hear this news. CAST are a superb organisation and this is a very exciting piece of work. We have a very rich and unique heritage here in Rossendale which we must all continue to cherish.

I am especially pleased because this project will have a lot of community involvement in it. It’s vital everyone in Rossendale plays a part in this piece of work. As a Council, we look forward to working closely with CAST and building on the efforts that are already being made to preserve our heritage.
