Following the announcement that work is to begin to redevelop Albert Mill on Albert Street and demolish the building, ward Councillor Sean Serridge said: “I’m delighted we are seeing progress on this site. It has been a major concern for residents, me and my fellow councillors, police and the fire service. The Council has put a lot of effort, time and resources to tackle this issue. It does take time to go through the process but it’s great that we can now see progress happening. The Council continues to work with the developers to transform this site from the eyesore it is now into something which we can proud of.”
