Rossendale Council has released a further update on discussions around the stopping up order needed for the Spinning Point development.
Councillor Alyson Barnes, Leader of the Council, said:
“I am very pleased to say we are making really positive progress with the Royal Mail on the stopping up order. I have actively been seeking to meet with the chief executive of Royal Mail to thrash out a deal and I am pleased to report we have nearly reached a compromise which all parties can agree. I know it has been a frustrating process but as people will appreciate, such discussions are complex.
“We can see light at the end of the tunnel. Overall, the project is on track and we’ll be hitting some major milestones soon. People will see the progress being made and I hope people see that this is an exciting time for Rawtenstall and the borough. “
