Council welcomes flooding funding announcement

Rossendale Council has welcomed news that flood grants are being made available to residents and businesses in the borough

The Government has announced a package of measures and financial help to help those directly affected by recent storms.

Households and businesses in Rossendale affected by flooding during Storms Ciara and Dennis may be able to receive financial help.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Alyson Barnes, said:

“We are obviously pleased that there is a bit of funding available for our residents and businesses as we were hit quite hard by the recent huge storms. It is something as a Council we have been calling for.

“I urge anyone affected to get in touch with us so we can help facilitate the funding.

“It’s likely more bad weather is on its way so the Council will be working with our partners and our neighbourhoods to make sure we are prepared as possible. I would like to once again praise the borough’s community spirit of our borough as it really comes out when bad weather hits.”
