The Leader of Rossendale Council has welcomed news the Council is set to receive thousands of pounds in funding to support domestic abuse service in the borough.
Rossendale Council was one of 15 Lancashire local authorities involved along with the county’s refuge services in a bid to government for a share of £2.1m. Rossendale Council is set to receive £76,000.
Councillor Alyson Barnes said:
“The funding is most welcome. The Council along with local services have lobbied for more investment for live saving domestic violence services especially as over the last ten years sadly these services have seen funding reduced. The funding we will receive in Rossendale will go towards our own Domestic Abuse service and one we commission from Victim Support.”
