Over the last few years, the Council with its partners have worked really hard to improve our town centres. This work has paid dividends especially in Rawtenstall.
In Rawtenstall, a lot has been delivered and it is clear there is a lot of positivity around the town.
Residents, visitors and businesses have fed back how good the town centre is looking, how the night time economy is booming and how great it is there is an influx of quality food and drink retailers.

Over the last year, an innovative partnership between Rossendale Council and the owners of the Clog Market has seen Rawtenstall Market go from strength to strength.
The Council is now looking for a new partner to build on the success as the current agreement with Clog Market owner Jane Boys is due to come to end shortly.

The Leader of Rossendale Council has welcomed news the Red Express bus service will be retained.

The Leader of the Council has raised her concerns again over the ending of two health and wellbeing services and has offered to work with partners to look for a solution.
The Lancashire Wellbeing Service (LWS), a programme, which supports thousands of people across Lancashire with low-level health and social care issues, has ended while funding for Rossendale’s Home Improvement Agency will cease in March.

It’s hard to believe that it is already time to wish everyone in our great borough a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2019 has flown by. It’s nice to see everyone getting into the Christmas spirit and the Christmas lights across the borough are looking great.
I’m definitely looking forward to a break and spending time with my family.

Rossendale Council has announced an extension to a popular programme of work that will see more of the borough’s best-loved parks revitalised.
Over the past few years, the Council has worked with the Friends Group, Bacup Pride, Newground and Stubbylee Community Greenhouses to come up with a masterplan for the popular Stubbylee Park.

The Council has launched a parking policy review for Rawtenstall to develop a strategy which will ensure future arrangements meet the needs of businesses, shoppers and commuters.
A survey of how the car parks are presently being used is being undertaken as well as engagement with traders and shoppers to gather views for a report which will shape the strategy.

A bid for funding to further develop exciting new plans for Haslingden has been approved.
A bold new vision and masterplan for the town, which have been shaped by businesses and residents, were unveiled earlier this year called Haslingden 2040.
It includes plans to create new event spaces, shared green areas for people to meet and better pedestrian links.

The finishing touches are being put on Rawtenstall bus station so it’s ready to open to the public this month.
