Shopkeepers and traders in Haslingden town centre are encouraged to express their interest in the new Shop Front Improvement Scheme before the deadline on 22 January.
The scheme, which was launched by Rossendale Borough Council in November, provides grants to support traders to carry out improvement work to their shops.
Under the new scheme, traders will be able to apply for grants of up to £2000 to improve the appearance of their shops.
50% grants will be available to shop and business owners within a defined boundary in the town centre, with the balance to be paid by the shop or business owner.
Rossendale Borough Council has provided £100,000 of funding through Haslingden Task Force to support regeneration initiatives in Haslingden, including the shop front improvement scheme.
Cllr Alyson Barnes, who chairs Haslingden Task Force said “This is a great opportunity for businesses to make improvements to the appearance of their shop fronts, and I would encourage all traders in the town centre to submit their Expressions of Interest before the deadline. By supporting businesses in this way, we hope that it will contribute to the regeneration of Haslingden and encourage more visitors to the town. ”
Expression of Interest Forms for the scheme have been distributed to businesses in Haslingden town centre. Forms are also available from Rossendale Borough Council Regeneration Team and businesses have until 22 January 2016 to return the forms with details of works they would like to undertake.
