Local elections May 2022

With local elections due to take place on Thursday 5 May, have you ever considered standing as a councillor yourself?  

Rossendale Council comprises 36 elected Councillors representing 14 Wards across the Borough. Councillors are elected to serve a 4 year term with elections covering one third of the seats taking place every year.

Help Overview and Scrutiny Develop the 2017/18 Work Programme

Each year the Overview and Scrutiny Committee chooses topics to include in the Annual Work Programme.

We welcome feedback from residents on what would be a good topic for the committee to look at.  We are looking for things that affect you and your community.  This could be something that is the Council’s responsibility, or the responsibility of one of our external partners.

The forms are to check who is registered to vote so please let us know if the details are correct or if you have any changes to make.

Council backs #regafriend Campaign

Rossendale Council is backing the Electoral Commission and National Union of Students’ joint campaign to get more students and young people registered to vote ahead of the local and Police and Crime Commissioner elections in May.

Called #RegAFriend (‘Register a Friend’), the campaign urges students and young people who have already registered to vote to encourage their non-registered friends and family to now do the same, by sharing messages and photos on social media.

#NVRD – Join the Drive and Register to Vote Today

Rossendale Borough Council wants to encourage anyone not yet registered to vote, to take advantage of National Voter Registration Drive this week and go online now to register.

On Thursday 5 May 2016 voters in Rossendale will go to the polls to elect local government councillors in Rossendale and a Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire.
