Rossendale businesses found out how to improve their digital marketing skills at a day-long session at Futures Park in Bacup.
The free event organised by Rossendale Council and Google Digital Garage was made up of four workshops.
Led by Adam Raja from the digital garage, they covered how to build a digital marketing plan, an introduction to digital advertising, social media strategy and writing for social media.
Councillor Alyson Barnes, leader of Rossendale Council, said:
We want to help Rossendale businesses to grow and thrive, and this was a great way for them to gain vital skills and knowledge which will help them to reach more customers.
The workshops really emphasised the potential and benefits of online marketing – and some of the best ways to do this – and the feedback from those who attended was very positive.
Google Digital Garage allows people to learn free digital skills to help them find a job, gain career skills, grow their business and boost their confidence online.
Stuart Sugarman, chief executive of Rossendale Council, added:
I was very impressed by the workshops which were fascinating.
Adam gave practical, in-depth advice which businesses can implement immediately to help them to stand out and thrive in the digital age – from boosting their profile on search engines to choosing the right social media platforms to communicate with potential customers.
