For the first time, residents across the country will need to show photographic ID to vote at this year’s local elections. Rossendale residents are being urged to make sure they are ready to vote on 4 May by checking they have an accepted form of ID.
Accepted forms of ID include a UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport; a UK, EEA or Commonwealth drivers’ licence; and some concessionary travel passes, such as an older person’s bus pass or an Oyster 60+ card.

Rossendale Council is holding a briefing session for anyone planning to stand as a candidate in this year’s local elections.
Rossendale Council elections take place on Thursday, May 3.
The pre-nomination briefing for prospective candidates and agents will be held in the Council Chamber, Futures Park, Bacup, OL13 0BB, at 5.30pm on Monday, March 12

Voters planning to go to the polls on May 4 can now find the list of Rossendale candidates on the Rossendale Borough Council website.

Local County Council elections are on Thursday 4 May, make sure you are registered to vote in order to have your say.
You will decide who represents you in at County Council and who makes decisions on the provision of local services delivered by Lancashire County Council.
You must be registered to be able to vote in the elections.

Letters will be going out to those registered for postal voting as the annual refresh exercise takes place.
Those residents who chose to vote by post or proxy are required to provide a signature and date of birth when they first apply to prevent fraud and the possibility of someone else using your vote.

Annual electoral household enquiry forms are being delivered to all properties in Rossendale up to the end of July.
The forms are to check who is registered to vote so please let us know if the details are correct or if you have any changes to make.
