An employability event focusing on health and wellbeing run by Rossendale Works – an employability programme run in partnership by Rossendale Council, Active Lancashire and The Department of Work and Pensions has been hailed a huge success.
Up to 20 different organisations were on hand to share information on physical and mental health, grassroots projects and local activities.

Rossendale Works – a partnership made up of Rossendale Council, Active Lancashire and the DWP – along with Lancashire Adult Learning and local company We Buy Books are to run a pre-employment training programme for a week beginning on the 27 June at We Buy Books, for people struggling to find work.

BUSINESSES, organisations and training providers will be setting out their stall at an employability event being organised by Rossendale Works.
It will be held on Friday August 20 in the Rossendale Council Chamber at Futures Park and will have 20 businesses represented with staff from the council’s employability projects Rossendale Works and Rossendale Youth Works also on hand.

A huge careers’ fair on Tuesday July 9 will be visited by 1,200 high school students and also be open to the general public.
It is the second time the Rossendale Works Employability Fair has been held at the Adrenaline Centre, Helmshore Road, Haslingden, and more than 50 different businesses and training providers have signed up for stalls.
