Valley Heritage in partnership with Rossendale Council and Lancashire County Council are offering free online training to individuals and companies in the construction industry to assist in whole house domestic retrofit.
The project funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund, awards a NOCN Level 2 in Understanding Domestic Retrofit (UDR) on completion of the course.
The training is an induction programme that provides an introduction to the installation of whole-house retrofit measures to domestic buildings and is an important steppingstone for new and existing retrofit professionals who lack the necessary accreditation to continue working in the industry.
Stephen Anderson Chair of Valley Heritage said: “This course will teach what domestic retrofit is, how it is defined, what you need to know when working in the industry, and what to look out for when installing energy efficiency measures in homes.
“We are delighted to offer this free training which will help local people learn how they can contribute to a low carbon Rossendale.”
The course is seen as a first step on the path to compliance with the regulatory requirements which are necessary for future work in the retrofit sector.
The training is open to new and existing retrofit contractors in Rossendale and places are limited.
The deadline for booking is 25th March 2022. For more information and to book a place contact triciabrindle@rossendalebc.gov.uk
