Bacup’s Future High Streets Fund bid success

Rossendale Council has welcomed news that Bacup has been included in an expanded list of towns that have progressed in a bid to benefit from the Government’s £1 billion Future High Streets Fund.

The Council has made improving the borough’s town centres its number one economic development strategy priority.

Following this decision, time and resources have been concentrated to try to bring much needed new investment in.

Council welcomes government clarity over funding bid

Rossendale Council has welcomed government clarity following its announcement of which areas had got to the next round of the Future High Street fund.

The Council expressed its disappointment that Bacup’s bid had not progressed to the business case development stage despite earlier indications it had been successful.

The Council put in a bid to the fund in March following the development of an exciting new vision for the future of the town centre, called Bacup 2040.

Council disappointed after bid news

Rossendale Council has expressed its disappointment following news that its Future High Street bid for Bacup has not been successful.

The Council put in a bid to the fund in March following the development of an exciting new vision for the future of the town centre.

The town has already benefited massively from £2m investment from the Townscape Heritage Initiative fund.

Council announces new funding bids for Haslingden and Bacup

Councillors are set to agree to ring fence nearly £200,000 to support Haslingden town centre as a fresh bid for funding is prepared.

Working with the recently re-established Haslingden Taskforce, Rossendale Council is preparing a bid for Heritage Funding.

A bid was made last year and while unsuccessful, the Council received many positive comments and has been encouraged to submit a further one this year.
